High School Scholarship Fund

The FishHawk Road Runners Club have created a one year $1000.00 scholarship fund for a graduate from one of our five local high schools. The five schools are: Newsome, Bloomingdale, Riverview, Durant and Brandon.

Requirements:

The recipient will be a senior that has shown the following:

Academic achievement and participated in the sport of running at a high level in High School. The ideal candidate will have a desire to continue to be a student athlete in the sport of running at the college level. Ideally the Candidate has supported the "Running club/ Community" through mentoring, volunteerism and has been ambassador to the sport.

Application:

The amount of $1000.00 will be for Qualified Education expenses only (tuition / books, etc.) We will ask the candidate to submit proof of their academic grades and high school running history signed by their high school running coach. They will need to submit an essay about themselves and why they should be selected for this scholarship. Letters of achievement from running coaches and teachers should also be submitted.

Selection process:

The Scholarship recipient will be selected by three of the board members of the FishHawk Road Runners. Only the selected candidate will be notified of our decision.

4. Proof of your academic achievements

5. Essay of why you should be selected for this scholarship. Essay should be approximately 200 words or more.
